The Detroit Publishing Company (DPC) online exhibit here at the Henry Ford Museum explores Western America as seen through the camera of William Henry Jackson. Included are photographs of the earthquake damage in San Francisco, and a pueblo in New Mexico.

This is a wonderful collection of Japanese maps from the 17th century onward. The Insight java Client program allows the user to download GIS functionality in order to fully understand the maps.

Japanese Historical Maps from the East Asian Library, UC Berkeley
This medical museum is located in Cleveland, at Case Western Reserve University. They have an extensive research collection on medical history, and the online exhibits include information (and pictures) on the smallpox epidemic in Cleveland (1902), medical instruments, and dissection of humans. Not to be looked at during lunch. :(
